Tuesday Tunes.

This Tuesday Tunes is all about Lord Huron. I am in love with him. His music makes me want to fall in love and do twirls. Yup, twirls. When I make movies, this song will definitely be in it. Probably towards the end when all the good things happen.

Lord Huron is a band from L.A that makes exceptional music and, now, exceptional music videos. The video for "Time To Run" is filmed as a Western with opening credits and a cliffhanger at the end. It is the perfect compliment to this track as it adds complexity to something so easy. Lord Huron has also said that their inspiration for the music video came from a story written by George Ranger Johnson, a character they made up that even has his own website.

Goodbye Old, Hello New.

My life has been taken over by throwing out things I don't need and packing up the things I do. It has all been a bit therapeutic. I've also cut off my hair that I have had long and flowy since I could remember. I think this is where someone would say "in with new, out with the old" and that is exactly what it is.

I was wondering what sparked this need for change and I have followed the bread crumbs (or pieces of hair) back to spending the summer with just myself. I got to comfortable with the things around me that I adapted.

Moving out of an empty summer home to a house with my five closest friends, was the deepest, freshest breath. Cutting my hair, literally felt like a weight being lifted from my shoulders. Cleaning out all my old stuff, was like sending out an invitation for the new. I guess what I am trying to get at is, pack up the old and the comfortable and move yourself out, give it away, cut it off -- just do something about it. The more negativity and comfort you settle in, the more it absorbs the person you are. I feel happy, light, energetic, excited, and the best me I can be at this point.

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

Track of the day is from London duo, AlunaGeorge, called "Your Drums, Your Love."

Waiting.

So after playing the new Mumford & Sons track, "I Will Wait," on repeat for the past five days, I decided to blog about it. I am a huge Mumford & Sons fan mainly because whenever I am in my deepest thoughts and darkest moments I can always count on them to join me in the dark or wiggle me out of my head. They are also extremely talented and perform with such power and romance.

The first time I heard "I Will Wait," things got a little emotional in my car, as it should have. The lyrics left me thinking if I would ever wait for someone and without any thought I replied to myself, "yes." If I had that much faith and hope that the person might be there down the road to get me, then I would dig my feet into that ground and wait for that person. And if he wasn't, then everything in life just remains the same, right?

Would you wait for someone?

Tuesday Tunes.

What is better than some Questlove news? Seriously, there is nothing better. If I was to be reincarnated, Questlove would definitely be in my top three wishes. He has more talent than I will ever have, even if I lived twice as myself. So what is the big news? He released the demo of his Beastie Boys tribute medley that he performed at the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony in honor of Adam Yauch. There really isn't much more to say so listen below.

Other than that...

While most girls will buy out the Ryan Gosling coloring book, I will be putting in my order for Bill Murray's.

This cookbook automatically takes me into another land.

I'm sorry, did you say granola chips?!

You can stream just about every new album today: Bloc Party, Yeasayer, and Ariel Pink.

Giggles

Laughing, giggling, chuckling, cracking up -- what ever you want to call it, I love it. Lately, I have been finding myself crouching over from deep belly laughs multiple times a day. My cheeks and my tummy are loving all this exercise. I hope you surround yourself with people that give you the giggles throughout the day.

Now, let's dance.

Yeasayer Internet Scavenger Hunt.

More post will follow this one for the day but I HAD to share this right away and can't take too much time away from some school work. So, as we all know Yeasayer has a new album, Fragrant World, coming out later this month. Lucky for us and the truly internet savvy people, the band has hidden moving visuals for the tracks all over the Internet until this Friday. Still confused? Head over to their website to see the note.

If you're still confused, full screen "Henrietta" below and lay back.
